For those who were around us in China, those who saw us when we got back, the Dr who saw Elias today thinks he might be in the early stages of pertussis (whooping cough).
It doesn’t manifest as a full-on nasty-sounding cough right away. It starts out as a low grade fever and mild runny nose, then progresses into a gasping cough.
Even though we won’t get results for a week, the Dr already started Elias on the treatment drug.
Please be aware of your kids {who were around him}.
We have all (except Elias of course) had the vaccine but as the Dr says, it’s not a perfect vaccine. So, in other words, you could still get it.
The good news is, it isn’t dire in people 6mo+. It just makes for some misery.
I really hope no-one else has it, just wanted to give you a heads up.
