I thought it would be fun to post some pics of random scenes we happened upon while in China.

While trying to survive walking down the street in Zhengzhou one day, J stopped to capture this guy crossing a very big intersection with a lawnmower…

In Guangzhou, we figured this meat place had the best in town since there was a large crowd waiting outside…

When we went to apply for Elias’ passport, there was a smattering of firecrackers {little scary at first}. It turns out a wedding was taking place close by.

There were so many people around and so much noise, we thought it was funny that this guy appeared to be taking a peaceful nap on the sidewalk…

At first glance, this just looks like a canal in the middle of the city. Look closer at the river, a guy was swimming in it.

There were so many more things we could’ve snapped but didn’t.

It was definitely a cross-cultural experience!

:) question– i can’t remember if you went to the kung fu temple in henan– if you did— would you rec. going there? even in 100+ degree heat? been to henan 3 times- but they’ve never offered it to us (maybe because i always go in the summer!) but if it’s worth it– would love to see it:)

Emily, we did not go. Were told it was a 3 hr drive and one family in our group wanted to go but no-one else was interested in going… so obviously they couldn’t go alone. Also, Elias wasn’t super fun in the short 10 min bus rides we went on, so there’s no way we were doing that!! Do you have to travel to apply for your son’s passport? We had to drive (3 hrs- one way) to Puyang to do that and we were kind of done with long bus rides :) But I’ve seen other peoples blogs where they seem to have a good time, it would’ve been cool, just didn’t work out…!!

Hahah the lawn mower is so funny -why does he have a lawn mower in that huge city with no grass?!

The Shaolin Temple is interesting especially for older kids and adults, but it can be somewhat hard to navigate all the stairs in the temple if you bring a stroller….I would try to go at least once. We went twice and that was too much
